Kings, wood carvers and monks – Schloss Linderhof, Oberammergau and Kloster
Ettal
More than 150 years after the death of the French Sun King Louis
XIV, his great admirer King Ludwig II paid tribute to the lavish lifestyle
of his role model by building the wonderful rococo Linderhof Palace.
This day trip takes you first of all to this gem amongst Bavarian palaces.
As well as the palace itself, you will also visit the Moorish Kiosk and the
Venus Grotto, before continuing to Oberammergau, world-famous thanks to its
passion play, which takes place every ten years, its frescoes and its wood
sculptors. Lunch will be served at the cosy Hotel Alte Post. Following a short
