This tour of the inner city will give you an overview of Munich’s most important sights. Discover what this international city with a heart has to offer: buildings, museums, cafés, shops... An ideal introduction for first-time visitors!

Tour 2 - October 3rd 2008

Nymphenburg Palace and Pinakothek der Moderne
This city tour provides not only an insight into the lifestyles of Munich residents, but also an overview of Munich’s history and development, traditions and future prospects.
The Tour passes by the main sights of the Old Town and then proceeds to Nymphenburg Palace, the former summer residence of the Wittelsbach dynasty.
Another exciting stop on the tour is the Olympiapark, at which the 1972 Olympic Games were held.
The tour also includes an interesting visit to the spectacular “Pinakothek der Moderne” art museum, the latest addition to the famous Munich “Pinakotheken”.

Tour 3 - Saturday, October 4th 2008

Kings, wood carvers and monks – Schloss Linderhof, Oberammergau and Kloster Ettal
More than 150 years after the death of the French Sun King Louis XIV, his great admirer King Ludwig II paid tribute to the lavish lifestyle of his role model by building the wonderful rococo Linderhof Palace.
This day trip takes you first of all to this gem amongst Bavarian palaces. As well as the palace itself, you will also visit the Moorish Kiosk and the Venus Grotto, before continuing to Oberammergau, world-famous thanks to its passion play, which takes place every ten years, its frescoes and its wood sculptors. Lunch will be served at the cosy Hotel Alte Post. Following a short walk around the village, you will in the afternoon be visiting Ettal Abbey, a famous Benedictine monastery with an impressive Baroque church.
